On September 4, 2020 Scarypoolparty hit the stage with an enthusiasm that was as refreshing as the two and half hour show he and the band played to adoring fans. It was the longest show to date and the energy was buzzing.

Rows of cars lined up early to see what the boy genius was going to do next. His second album, Doom Hologram, came out September 3, 2020. The album which is brilliant in its concept, explores an angels descent from heaven and the corruption of the angel by world.

The album has eight songs, which include Return2Sender, Fake Smiles, Angel Delete, Deathwave, Judas, Sun Moon Earth, Doom Hologram, and Paradox. He opted for a mix of orchestral elements with heavy hitting drums, distorted guitars, dark lyrics, and an underground industrial influence.

The show itself encompassed many styles including many beautiful acoustic favorites from American Idol. As with his previous album Exit Form, Doom Hologram covers many genres. It seems that Scarypoolparty belongs to his own genre, the genre of Scarypoolparty.

The show, which took place at the National City Grove of Anaheim started around 8pm to a diverse and loving group of fans. Super stans started arriving around 2pm for tailgating. Somewhat of a tradition in the past.

Around 4:30, cars starting lining up and preparing for what would be a probably once in a lifetime experience. Shortly after the cars were allowed to park. Each car had a stall with enough room to get out and put chairs out or dance your ass off.

The tailgating continued with fans streaming in the space. Special guests included music producer Cori Jacobs, Kixamillion who is a popular YouTube reactor, as well as his nephew Jordan Sandoval (Jordy Strange) and girlfriend Kaitlyn (Kaitlyn Strange) and many many others.

SPP began with an acoustic set including his new hit Return2Sender as well as the classics, Ten Years, Out Loud, Poison, and Falling Down (unofficial title). His playing, was of course beyond comprehension. his self taught and almost savant style of guitar playing.

After a short break, the band took the stage including Maxx Diaz on bass, Travis Couch on guitar, Andy Prado on drums, and Michael Hoffman, also on drums. That’s right two drummers! The talent level of every member of the band is off the charts.

From the moment they hit the stage it was one fan favorite after another. Including two never released songs, Underworld and Paradise. During a thumping rendition of Heartstorm, Michael Hoffman jumped on the base drum, playing his heart out.

There is no doubt that this concert will go down in SPP history. It wasn’t just the music, it was the band, the message, and of course Scarypoolparty. There were too many memories to include in one blog, however as a Super Stan, this was the concert not to miss. Thank you Scarypoolparty for inspiring love, the lack of greed and being a good person. As a super Stan, I for one, do not want to live in a world without Scarypoolparty music.
